Eric Smith (afghanchaplain) > When we got back from Atlantic Beach it was time to begin packing up for our trip across the ocean to the country of Afghanistan. Your Dad was so busy that he didn't have time to take my picture at the place he was staying in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. On the day that we flew on our great big plane we had to wait a long time. Here I am waiting patiently on the plane to come and take us across the ocean. I hope the ride is not scary. I have never been on a plane before, but I think it will be a lot of fun.
Eric Smith (afghanchaplain) > Wow, the plane finally got to us and is it ever big. There are a lot of people on the plane and a lot of military gear. I hope that this plane can get us off of the ground. I know that I will be okay though. I am with your Dad and he will keep me safe. I have heard that it is a long plane ride though. Today is Monday and we will not get to Afghanistan until late Tuesday night. I think I will take a nap on the plane.
