Eric Smith (afghanchaplain) > We have now been in Afghanistan for almost ten days. Right now we are in a place called Deh Rawod (and I am sitting on the bed that we slept in). It is a small village in the desert of Afghanistan. It is a real neat place. I have seen lots of things this week - camels, donkeys, cows, and lots of children. It has been really fun. I think that we are going to leave Deh Rawod real soon though. I hope we come back here. It is really fun, and we got to ride on a helicopter on the way here. It was cool.
Eric Smith (afghanchaplain) > We finally made it to Afghanistan. I am so tired of being on a plane. We had to fly another eight hours from Germany to get here. When we got to Afghanistan we moved into our tent. Here am I sitting on your Dad's new bed. This is where he will sleep while he is in Bagram. I am so glad that we finally made it here. And yes, the plane ride was very fun.
